Jack Hughes Manchester School of ArchitectureMy name is Jack Hughes and I’m a second year student at the Manchester School of Architecture. I grew up in South London and came into architecture quite late, having done a year of Mathematics at Edinburgh before pursuing this course. I’d like to think that my brain’s logical and analytical left brain is equal to it’s random and creative counterpart but I really don’t think that they’re in unison. Constantly warring I find it incredibly hard to concentrate on anything for long. I hope this goes some way to explain the nature of the posts on this blog, I will be endevouring to show off my work and what I’m producing for the course but more likely I’ll start discussing something cool I saw earlier today or some idea that’s got stuck in my mind somewhere along the line. I don’t think this is a bad thing but I want to give fair warning as the phrase “this is cool because” may come up a lot.

What I enjoy most about Architecture is its wide-ranging nature, the way it can influence the very way you live your life but also be so absolutely beautiful. I’m interested in schools and public buildings because of their potential to inspire but I also enjoy just the creation of things, be it visions of societies in the future travelling by mobile clouds or just a stunning illustration of a street in New York. It’s all Architecture if you really squint at it.

The ‘moon earth’ photograph is so amazing, it lead me straight to your blog and I couldn’t resist reading the whole post. I am inspired by your ideology about architecture and know for sure that you will make it big one day. Good Work! wish you all the best.
